This Detox Chai Tea recipe serves as an excellent coffee replacement in the mornings! It has a robust, complex taste, while helping your body to heal and rejuvenate.
1/2 Cup Filtered Water (You may use milk for a creamier tea.)
1/2 Cup Whole Grass Fed/Grass Finished Milk (Plant based milk can be substituted.)
4 Traditional Medicinals Organic Roasted Dandelion Tea Bags
4 Whole Peppercorns
6 Cardamom Pods
3 Whole Cloves
Cinnamon Stick (1 Inch)
¼ Tsp Freshly Grated Whole Nutmeg
Fresh Ginger Root (2 Inches)
Fresh Turmeric Root (2 Inches)
2 Tbsp. Water
½ Tsp Vanilla Extract
Sweetener of Choice (Optional) (Raw Honey)
Pour milk and filtered water into a saucepan. Set heat to simmer.
Add whole peppercorns, vanilla extract, and freshly grated nutmeg.
Grind the following to a powder: cardamom pods, whole cloves, cinnamon stick. Add to the saucepan.
Blend the fresh ginger root and fresh turmeric root in the Magic Bullet (high speed blender) with two tablespoons of water. Add to the saucepan.
Stir.
Let simmer for at least 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off heat, add tea bags, and let steep.
Strain into a teacup and enjoy!
This Detox Chai Tea recipe can be made before bed, and makes for a delicious night cap that promotes healing throughout the night. Be sure to enjoy the full experience by inhaling the aromas, letting go of the breath, and then sipping!
