Essential Oils are derived from plants. These are precious oils found in various parts of the plant, for example, rose essential oil is extracted from the petals, whereas, pomegranate seed oil is obviously derived from the seed of the fruit. Essential oils are extracted using different methods depending on their location within the plant.
Essential Oils can be found at most stores today, sometimes at incredibly affordable prices. Like most people you are probably wondering why such a large price difference among the same type of essential oil.
The quality of essential oils is determined based on their fragrance, and their level of bioactivity. The higher the level of bioactivity of an essential oil then the greater the potential therapeutic benefits of that oil.
Synthetic Essentials Oils are manufactured in a lab to mimic the natural fragrance of essential oils. For example the Lavender scents used in many commercial products such as laundry detergents are synthetic in nature.
There is such disparity in the quality of plant derived essential oils sold on the market today. This is in part due to the adulteration (adding components of a natural or synthetic nature) that lowers the quality of the oil.
These are the essential oils that we have to incorporate into our lives if we want to reap those amazing essential oils’ benefits that are touted.
