Himalayan Yogis who engage in prolonged meditation practices need less sleep, as meditation provides the restful and renewing properties of deep sleep.

After meditation, your mind is “clear” and you will find it easier to concentrate on a pointed task, to completion. How to Start Meditating

There are numerous books, online classes, and in person guided meditation classes to choose from. It may be easier to start with a guided meditation from someone whose spiritual belief aligns with yours.

A popular website to get started on is Headspace.com. Best selling author Sam Harris has an app called Waking Up that can be upgraded to provide guided meditations. Pema Chodron has a book entitled “How to Meditate: A Practical Guide to Making Friends with Your Mind” which also comes guided meditations on a CD.
