Success After 40: Inspiring People Who Achieved Success

Is it possible to achieve success after 40? Do you feel like society has written you off since you’ve turned forty? Have you lost motivation to accomplish your dreams, or believe that you are incapable of dreaming new dreams? Would you like to transform your body, start a new career, open a new business, after the age of forty?

Why your age, 40 plus, has a huge advantage?

*In our 40’s, we have accumulated a wealth of experience, both personally and professionally. We are uniquely positioned for success after 40 versus our younger counterparts.

*In our 40’s we are more disciplined, or have the ability to adhere to a monotonous plan that gets us closer to our goals.

*In our 40’s, we have more confidence! Most of the insecurities that plagued our 20’s and 30’s now seem childish and petty, as other people’s approval rarely hold us prison anymore.

*By forty, we have developed more patience, especially if we have experienced having kids, and working our way around the family dynamics.

*Neuro-Plasticity – science has now proven that we can learn new things successfully, at any age.

You are uniquely positioned for success after 40, as you are more capable of developing a Mindset of persistence until you succeed!

Following are four examples of individuals who have experienced success later in life:

Julia Child

She discovered her passion for cooking at age 36! Her famous cookbook “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” was initially rejected, and finally published in 1961, 13 years after she discovered her passion, when Julia was 49 years old.

Colonel Sanders

He’s had various odd jobs for most of his life. He started refining his chicken recipe at the age of 40 at a Shell filling station. Colonel Sanders even invested in courses, later in life, to learn how to open his own restaurant. He started franchising KFC restaurants in his early 60’s!

Rich Roll

He was an alcoholic in his 20’s. A recovered alcoholic, and an attorney in his 30’s. A stressed out, out of shape, unhappy father leading up to his 40th birthday. In desperation, he decided to make a change. He went on to become an ultra long distance runner, to compete in the Ultraman Hawaii, and in the EPIC 5. One of my favorite inspirations of what humans can accomplish once we set our minds to it.

His story can be read in his book Finding Ultra.

Josefina Monasterio

Josefina started weight lifting when she was 59 years old! She has since become a bodybuilding champion, and an author of several books. She was placed second in the over 40 category in a bodybuilding championship. In her interview, she said that she came back from that competition inspired by the winner of the competition to train harder, stronger, and that she is looking forward to competing, and winning in the next competition!
