I have been getting 6 1/2 Hours of sleep since starting my Intermittent Fasting and I wake up energized! I have noticed that I do not need a stimulant such as coffee to “wake up” but instead consume hot coffee because it is a part of my feel good ritual in the mornings. I love the aroma of freshly brewed coffee in the mornings!
As I have mentioned in prior posts, I have been bloated, day and night, as well as feeling “gassy” since starting this Intermittent Fasting journey. On the morning of Day 4, however, there was no bloating and no gas. My stomach felt softer. The fat surrounding my lower stomach was still there but with the bloating/gas gone, I was finally able to see exactly how much fat had accumulated!
Dr. Jason Fung attributed early weight loss and reduction in bloating to a process of “diuresis” during fasting. This occurs when the insulin levels in your body is lower due to the fasting which increases your body’s ability to excrete more salt and water. This process is also responsible for the reduction in bloating I experienced.
I did not wake up thinking about food! I am surprised at how early in my Intermittent Fasting journey this occurred. I love food. I love eating food, creating recipes, the aromas of cooking, and of course enjoying meals with my family. But today, I noticed myself not thinking of the next meal, or any meals at all. My body feels energetic and I do not feel any sense of hunger, or cravings.
