Does the adage“you are not growing fast enough if you are not completely embarrassed by who you were three months ago” deeply resonate with you? As part of an exponential growth process, you can instill the following techniques into your daily routine, enabling you to work faster and be ultra productive:
Consistency
Robin Sharma imparts the brain tattoo “consistency is the mother of all mastery”. How do you take consistent actions? You need to chunk your goals into attainable daily tasks, that can be accomplished in their entirety, and complete them, everyday! The app, Habitify, is invaluable in allowing you to track your daily goal completion, providing basic analytics to ensure that you stay on track. When Jim Kwik, founder of Kwik Learning, was asked how to read a book a week, his answer can be summed up as follows: to chunk it, schedule it, and complete it.
Immediate Implementation
You may be guilty of reading, but not following through by implementing those requisite changes that will get you closer to your “future” self. Taking action is critical to being successful. Tony Robbins says that “knowledge is power” is only partially correct, knowledge is actually “potential power”, whereas true power lies in “taking massive action.”
One Touch Principle
When you open an email, what if you immediately make a decision on what has to be done with it and complete that action right away? What if you apply that same principle to other obligations? It is imperative to finish a task once started, as the research shows that every time your attention veers away from a task, you need to reinvest your most limited resource, time, to get caught up to where you left off, and only then can you continue. Develop the self discipline to follow through with each task until completion.
